FAQ

How does the tuning process work?

The tuning process is very simple. After you fill out tuning request form/purchase the tune you will be asked to flash the base map attached in your intro email, and then to capture some basic datalogs. 10-15 second idle logs, Mass Airflow/Light Load calibration logs, and WOT (wide open throttle) runs are all required to properly modify the ECU Calibration. With your basemap you will also receive links to multiple instructional videos as well as written instructions to help you understand how to record these logs effectively. We will do the logging/map revision process multiple times in order to properly calibrate the vehicle.

Do i have to complete the tune in a certain amount of time?

Our Tunes do not come with a time limit as long as datalogs are sent within a reasonable period of time. We will take as much time and do as many revisions needed to complete the tune. Once a period of 6 months elapses from the receipt of the last set of datalogs for a tune in progress you will be charged a continuation fee to continue the tuning process. This fee does not apply to check up/datalogging review on previously completed tunes.

What is your turn around time on revisions?

We strive to provide the absolute best service possible. You will receive map revisions within 3 business days. Alternatively we do offer live remote/local tuning sessions for an additional fee that can complete a tune from start to finish in a day (assuming there are no mechanical problems with the vehicle). Please contact us through the Home page to get a time/price estimate for this service.

Should i do anything prior to tuning?

Make sure your car is mechanically sound ( fresh oil, no coolant leaks, check engine lights etc.) prior to the start of tuning. It is also highly recommended that you verify that your plugs are gapped correctly  (.026-.028in.). Please check for any loose intake/intercooler pipes, exhaust rattles/leaks, loose motor mounts, etc. prior to tuning as they can create false knock from the additional vibration.

What Spark plugs should i use?

For Ford/Mazdaspeed vehicles we recommend the NGK #6510. These plugs do not come pregapped. You will have to adjust the distance between the grounding strap and the electrode manually. The recommended gap for the majority of turbocharged vehicles that we tune is .025-.028in. For higher boost applications (30psi+) please contact us as this gap needs to get adjusted based on the end power goals.

What is your refund policy?

Custom tuning is classified as a non-tangible digital product, therefore we do not issue refunds on any tuning services after the process has been started. The purchase can only be refunded prior to the basemap/initial email being sent out. Once the initial email with your map/list of instruction has been sent the tuning process has been started, and the purchase is marked as complete. All custom tuning is non transferable to new owners/vehicles. The custom tune is for the original purchaser/vehicle. All refunds on tunes will be made minus cancellation/card processing fees.

Order cancelations are available up until the item ships. Long lead built to order items like port injection kits can not be canceled after they have started being built.
